New Visitor Badging System

The RAPTOR system is now installed and active in the Tolt Main Office. Copied below is a recent article from the Riverview School District.

Riverview School District has taken a major step forward in campus safety and visitor management with the successful installation of the new RAPTOR visitor badging system in most of its buildings. This cutting-edge service, which offers improved security and streamlined processes, is already operational and will soon extend to elementary schools across the district.

"Safety and security are our highest priorities," said Aaron De Folo, Riverview School District's Safety & Security Coordinator. "The RAPTOR system provides an additional layer of protection while allowing for an efficient visitor check-in experience."

The RAPTOR system is designed to track visitor access, screen against multiple security databases, and provide critical information in real time. Over the coming months, the district plans to roll out several updates to the system that will enhance user experience, integrate new functions, and customize the product to best serve the needs of Riverview’s diverse campuses.

Quick Tips for Signing In:

Upon arrival, visitors will begin at the Welcome screen by choosing the "VISITOR" option. From there, they can select their sign-in method:

  • Scan ID Option: Place the ID in front of the camera located at the upper right back corner of the iPad, moving it closer until the white outline turns blue.

  • Manual Entry Option: If a visitor does not have an ID, they can manually enter their name and birthdate. Visitors who already have their government-issued ID on file will not be required to take a new selfie upon manual entry.

Once prompted, visitors may be asked to take a selfie using the forward-facing camera on the kiosk. They will then select their destination within the school.

“The system performs an internal security check to help us know exactly who is on-campus at any given time.” De Folo explained. “In the event of an emergency, this functionality allows us to respond with accuracy and accountability.”

Upon successful check-in, the kiosk will print a visitor badge that must be worn during the visit. Should there be any issues with the check-in process, visitors are encouraged to retry or consult with an office professional for assistance.

Signing Out:

When leaving, visitors should return to the kiosk and select "Sign Out." This step can be completed by scanning the barcode on their visitor badge or manually entering their name if an ID is unavailable.

"Efficient check-in and check-out processes mean less disruption and more focus on keeping our learning environments safe," said De Folo.
