Riverview School District, located thirty miles east of Seattle in the beautiful lower Snoqualmie Valley, encompasses the communities of Carnation, Duvall, and surrounding areas of eastern King County. The area's quiet charm and friendly ways, combined with easy access to the urban amenities of Seattle, Bellevue, Redmond, Woodinville and Issaquah, make it one of the most desirable places to live in the Puget Sound Metropolitan Region. The District covers approximately 250 square miles and serves more than 3,250 students.

The Riverview community has high academic expectations for the school district and has supported its maintenance and operations levy and technology levy every four years, as well as $56.6 million in capital bonds in 2007 to renovate all five schools and add a new alternative learning center. The District was also able to purchase a building in Duvall to house its headquarters, and moved over the summer into the Educational Service Center for all services and operations, including professional development.

Riverview offers education in an integrated setting. Special programs designed to meet the needs of students include special education, remedial reading, gifted and honors, early childhood, English Language Learners, music and fine arts, career and technical education, outdoor educator, athletics, activities, and clubs. Our alternative programs work with students in various settings, including K-5 multi-age, home-school support, individual student learning plans, and STEM/Humanities curriculum.

Community and employees are very involved in the goal setting and strategic planning for the district. Riverview Educational Foundation (REF) generates financial and community support to enrich the educational opportunities through its Grants and Award Programs for district staff. All schools maintain active PTA's and provide many opportunities for community volunteers to share in the learning process with students.
