Meet the Principal
Welcome to Tolt Middle School!
It is an honor to serve our awesome school community filled with amazing students, outstanding educators and extremely supportive families. My goal is to foster a welcoming, supportive, and safe environment where students feel like they belong and receive an excellent education that meets their individual needs. I love helping middle school students to discover their passions, develop their strengths, and tackle new challenges with increasing independence.
Our staff strives to develop an inclusive community of critical and creative thinkers who practice resiliency, show empathy, and take initiative for learning. It's important to us that we are developing the whole child and building the academic, social, and emotional skills our students will need in life. We believe that partnering with families and our community are keys to promoting student success during these important middle school years.
A little bit about me ... I've spent my entire life on the Eastside except for my years at Wheaton College in Illinois. I enjoyed teaching high school math in Issaquah before I completed my principal credentials through University of Washington's Danforth Educational Leadership Program. Prior to coming to Tolt in the fall of 2017, I learned about the joys of working with middle-level students as an assistant principal in Northshore. When I'm not at school, I like to run, hike, read, shop, play with my Lab puppy, and spend time with family and friends.
Tolt is a very special place. I feel so fortunate to be a part of a community that values education, cares a ton about kids, and is committed to the success of students. Please don't hesitate to reach out if there is ever anything I can do to help you or your student. Go, Thunderbirds!
